Take a Kid Ice Fishing
January 19, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeDo you know a kid that has always wanted to try Ice Fishing, but you lack the time, gear, and knowledge or know how? Want to try it to see if it is a sport for your family? Well good news! Because the WI-DNR offers a FREE FISHING weekend in January with that we present:
TAKE A KID ICE FISHING
Saturday, January 19th
Located on Lower Genesee Lake just outside Oconomowoc near the boat launch.
8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Free family event.
We provide everything: bait, poles, tip-ups, minnow buckets, ice holes drilled, and guides to teach you how to fish. We also offer a hot lunch and drinks out on the ice. Bring the whole family!
Be sure to dress warm, especially waterproof boots. Dress as you would for sledding or warmer. “Pull sleds” are a fun way for little ones to get around on the ice. Don’t forget your sense of wonder!
This event is sponsored by: Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Post 189
They and all our dedicated volunteers and local sponsors provide the gear, guides, bait, food and drinks. Here is an opportunity to introduce family and children that don’t have someone to teach them fun and trials of Ice Fishing.
