Trout Out ’25 Tournament

Date, Time, & Location

02/01/2025 – Reef Point Marina Racine, WI

Registration begins at 6:00am and will stay open for the duration of the tournament. Tournament begins when the horn blows at 7:00am – Last fish submission will be taken at 1:30 pm. Winners announced at the tent at 2:00 pm.

No holes can be drilled in a shack before the horn goes off at 7:00 am, you can pre-drill holes prior to the starting horn as long as they can be seen. Get to your spot and stake your ground whenever you choose but make sure to check in at registration. Tournament submissions will be taken after the horn at 7:00am till 1:30 pm by texting the phone number(s) on your tournament card. Headquarters will be at Reef Point Marina in Racine, WI. When you register and pay for the category(s) you choose to fish you will get a tournament card. Registration will open at 6:00 am. No fish submitted will be accepted without the card in the picture. You can fish anywhere in the harbor (The river is excluded). In order to claim winnings, you must be present at the headquarters tent at 2:00 pm.

By registering for the tournament, all participants agree that they are to abide by all tournament rules. The interpretation and enforcement of the rules is at the sole discretion of the tournament directors. The tournament directors may change rules or impose sanctions as they deem appropriate including but not limited to: disqualifications, forfeiture of prizes, and prohibition from competing in future tournaments. All decisions made by the tournament directors are final.

Participation and Eligibility

“Open Tourney” An entry fee of $40.00 per person is required and will be collected at registration the morning of the tourney. Be sure to have cash, we cannot take cards or checks!!!

“Calcutta” (Longest Fish) An entry fee of $10.00 per person is required and will be collected at registration the morning of the tourney. Be sure to have cash, we cannot take cards or checks!!!

Safety

Participants are responsible for their own safety, actions, and property at all times. Remember no ice is “safe” ice and there are inherent risks with ice fishing. You are responsible for your own safety!

Sportsmanship

All participants are expected to follow standards of sportsmanship, safety and conservation. Any participant who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules or brings unfavorable publicity to the event could be disqualified without reimbursement. Encroachment is considered a sportsmanship rule. We reserve the right to check your measuring device and or tournament card at any time.

Inclement Weather and/or Unsafe Conditions

We plan to go rain or shine, if weather deals a real blow we will make a decision on the Facebook event page prior to the tournament.

Payout

$100.00 of the Open Tourney pot will be withheld to cover expenses and food for the tournament.

Each species winner will get paid 35% of the “open tourney” pot

Second place fish of each species will get paid 15% of the “open tourney” pot

Calcutta “Big Fish”

Exactly what it sounds like, there is an additional $10.00 entry fee for this pot. You do not need to enter the open tourney to enter the Calcutta. Longest fish caught that day regardless of species (pike, carp, burbot, doesn’t matter) wins the side pot and bragging rights!

Claiming Prizes

Prizes are the responsibility of the winners. Licensing, registration, transportation, taxes, and all incidental or consequential expenses incurred are the responsibility of the winners. You must be present at the tent at 2:00pm in order to claim any prizes. If you are late your catch may be disqualified and prizes awarded to the next finisher.

Leaderboards

We will have live leader info at the registration tent. As fish are submitted we will post them to the event page, and will do our best to keep info as up to date and available as possible.

Measuring & Submitting Fish

• FISH MUST BE MEASURED ON A MEASURING DEVICE THAT IS LEGIBLE AND IN GOOD CONDITION AND HAS HALF INCH INCREMENTS MINIMUM, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY ANY FISH SUBMITTED IF THE MEASURING DEVICE IS SUSPECT IN OUR OPINION. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS SHOW US YOUR MEASURING DEVICE PRIOR TO START. (We will have tapes available for $1.00 each)

• Fish should be immediately recorded for submission as soon as they are caught.

• All submissions must include two photographs – One of the participant holding the fish and one of the fish on the measuring device with the tournament card and measurement visible.

• You must close the fish’s mouth and place the fish on the device with the lip on the left side as you take the photo (The belly will be facing you). The fish’s tail should be squeezed to determine length. Take the photo in a horizontal position, so that both the fish’s nose, and the tail, which is indicating the measurement, are clearly depicted. If we can’t read the measurements or see the entire fish on the tape your submission will not be accepted.

• Text the 2 photos with your name to the phone number(s) on your tournament card Immediately!!!

• If the fish’s tail is touching the graduation line on the tape then that is the exact measurement for that fish. If the fish’s tail crosses the graduation line, then the measurement will be rounded up to the next highest 1/2 inch.

• We prefer that all fish be released in order to help sustain our fishery but ultimately as long as all DNR rules & regs are followed it’s the anglers choice

• No sharing autos, rods, tip-ups or any other fish catching device. You can have 3 lines in the water and can not pass a rod off or have a rod passed off to you. Fish your lines & holes only.

• All participants must have their fish submitted before the 1:30pm horn marking the end of the tournament.

Ties and Tiebreakers

The tournament directors will use the time submitted to break ties. First photo submitted takes the position. If a winner cannot be determined, then a tie could result in shared prizes. E.g. in the event of a tie for the largest fish, the prize winnings might be combined and shared equally between the two participants.

Laws and Regulations

All federal, state, and local laws and all fishing regulations must be followed.

Failure to comply with any tournament rules subjects participants to disqualification and removal from the competition, as determined by the tournament officials. The right to refuse entry and/or revoke a registration to anyone is hereby reserved.

Cheating

All protests must be brought to the tournament directors before the close of the tournament.

Anyone caught breaking the law or disobeying the rules can be disqualified without reimbursement of entry fees . Fish must be hooked and caught live in a conventional sporting manner. Fish cannot be snagged, netted, speared, etc.
